Jonathan Davis to join Colonials in 2011

YouTube Highlight Reel

While his name might appear to be more musically inclined, this Jonathan Davis is a stand-out 6'8" 215 lbs. forward with a handle who averaged 16 and 10 last season for Simi Valley High School in Southern California. Jonathan verbally committed to GW after a visit during labor day weekend. He also held offers from Hawaii, Pacific, SMU, Utah, and UTEP as well as reported interest from other major programs. Jonathan will join ESPN top-100 commitment Erik Copes in the frontcourt next season as part of GW's class of 2011.

What's on eBay today? Kwame Evans, Mike Brown, Pops cards

Every now and then I check out eBay to see what kind of GW stuff is on there. Sometimes it's kind of awesome, sometimes it's just the same stuff they sell in the bookstore. Today though, I found some cool basketball cards:

A Pops game worn uni card
A 1996 signed Kwame Brown card. Kwame was the star in the mid 90s when GW beat #1 UMass in front of Pres. Clinton. Dig the sweet couch the picture was taken on.
Signed Utah Jazz Mike Brown card. Brown was a star in the 80s and played in the NBA until 1996, plus some overseas time. Here's his Wikipedia.
Another of Mike

Song of Roland: Houston named associate head coach

Roland Houston in action
Looks like Karl Hobbs likes French epic poems: assistant coach and big man expert Roland Houston has been promoted to associate head coach.

Nice to see for the big guy, who was also an assistant at Rhode Island after playing there in the 70s and 80s. He also played in France, Spain, Italy and Argentina -- kind of ironic (if you are a literature nerd) in that Roland became the French national hero after some Basques killed him in a battle in 778.
You can get college basketball tickets here.
