GW cheerleaders in competition

So I've always heard that the GW cheerleaders did pretty well in the various cheerleader competitions you see on ESPN2 at random hours. I think it's also why all the girls on the team are 5 feet tall (or smaller). Found this clip of them on Youtube. Interesting, but weird that they don't do that stuff at games.

Johnny Lee joins Lipscomb U team

Looks like Mr. Lee has found a new home, at Lipscomb University (formerly David Lipscomb, as of 2005). Hope he does well. Hat tip to the Hatchet for finding this via the AP. The Hatchet had a nice article about him a few weeks back.

Rumor: Hofstra to A-10 in 2 years

So this is just a rumor and could be totally bogus, but this is what a poster has to say about the Hofstra to A-10 rumors:
One of my fellow AAU girls coaches here in Philly area told me that Hofstra is joining A10 in 2 years. Why should this matter. His daughter is the prized recruit for Hofstra and will be Frosh this upcoming year. The coach calls from time-to-time to check in with her as she gets ready to graduate and was told this weekend the A10 move is definite.
Of course, prior to this message, other posters say it would never happen.

Hofstra to the A-10?

Looks like Hofstra is looking at leaving the CAA, and the A-10 is their first choice. Seems ok to me -- it's not a super-well known school, but hey, neither is St. Bonaventure. And I'd definitely be in favor if we can kick out Fordham or Bonaventure.

Hofstra is Long Island's largest private college, meaning this would be the A-10's second Long Island school. The first, of course, is GW. Ha!

Monday, May 4, 2009 down, Herve's working on it

Got this email this weekend from Herve, the owner/moderator/founder etc. is down as the server has some software issues and I can't get to it. I'm 95% it will be fine and hopefully will be back-up this week.

it is, in fact, the off-season.
