Second Summer League underway

As I mentioned previously, there are a bunch of NBA summer leagues. The Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City has been going on for a few days, and three GW alums are playing - Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Regis Koundjia reprise their roles for the Mavs and Spurs, and Carl Elliott gets his first summer league action with the Jazz.

However, Regis is hurt, according to somebody at GWhoops.com, which is why he hasn't been playing. Pops had an OK first game, scoring 6 and getting 8 rebounds, but 6 fouls. And he dunked over his teammate (pictured). The second game was better, scoring 15 on 7-10 shooting and 6 rebounds.

Carl has averaged 4.2 points in limited playing time, about 9.8 minutes per game. I hope he gets a chance to play.

I saw Regis at the DC United game last Saturday. My guess is that he was released.

So that pic is of Pops dunking, with Acie Law (of Texas A&M) watching... Is that a doctored pic? If not, where is the ball? Where is Pops's hand?

I don't think it's doctored. I would guess it's after the dunk when he's coming down. The ball probably bounced somewhere or could be behind somebody, and Pops's hand is blurry because of the motion, much like Mr. Law IV is. It's probably a photo from an average digital camera
