GW hires former Michigan coach as assistant

This might be good news - GW hired Brian Ellerbe, former head coach at Michigan and Loyola, as an assistant. Apparently he's a good Xs and Os guy and a good recruiter, both of which can help GW. Some at GWHoops debate whether Hobbs wanted him and what's wrong with him that he's coming here. Ellerbe has been out of coaching for 8-10 years after Michigan was hit with violations due to payments by a booster. Apparently Ellerbe wasn't involved, as he came to Michigan after the violations happened.

Of course, this is GW, so people always look at the glass as half empty. One poster says it was 100% Hobbs' idea to bring him in, and others speculate that maybe he just didn't want to coach again for awhile. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt - he seems like a good fit.

Michigan fans apparently hate the guy, but they're mostly lunatics who hate everybody who hasn't brought them a national championship.

At this point, we need all the help we can get, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. As a player at Rutgers, he was a hot head - hope he has calmed down.
