GW to play Alabama, Auburn next season

Good news for GW and GW fans in Alabama - the Hatchet blog reports the Colonials will face Auburn in the BB&T and will play the Crimson Tide in Alabama. Alabama was 20-12 last season, 7-9 in the SEC, and lost to UMass in the NIT. They were ranked at one point and only graduated one player, so they should be pretty good. Auburn was 17-15 and 7-9 in the SEC, with no postseason. They also only graduated one player.

Both games are good for the team's strength of schedule, hopefully the rest of the out of conference games will be similarly decent.

Good! It's about time we started to schedule a few tougher teams, even if it means going on the road a bit more. A couple more quality games will also help come tournament time, where we could maybe get out of the second round instead of being completely outclassed by another team used to a higher level of competion.
