Duke alum, former Ohio State, Louisville assistant Greg Paulus joins GW's staff

This is cool -- former Duke star and former Ohio State, Louisville and Navy assistant coach Greg Paulus has joined GW's coaching staff. Trusty writer Ben Standig also confirmed the news.

Paulus has been an assistant since 2010, starting as an assistant at Navy before moving to Louisville then Ohio State. It will also give GW a bit of a news boost, but Paulus also has experience at some big schools, and under Coach K at Duke. He also was the starting point guard on the team that beat GW in the second round of the 2006 NCAA tournament. Maybe he can help GW get some of those bogus foul calls that went to Duke in that game (GW was whistled for 29, Duke for 14, and many of those in the final minutes.)

Paulus also played quarterback for Syracuse after his Duke career. Apparently you can play another NCAA sport if you play the first sport for four years.

This comes after assistant coach Carmen Maciariello is rumored to have left for powerhouse local high school DeMatha. Looking forward to Paulus. Welcome, Greg!
