GW gets epic overtime win vs Dayton on a dunk, qualifies for A-10 tourney

No sleep til Brooklyn! After a painful first ten minutes of the game when Dayton was scoring with impunity, the good guys stepped up their game and made it one to remember.

The key was shutting down Kevin Dillard, who had 16 points in the first half but only 4 in the second, and the Colonials roared back to tie the game. Isaiah Armwood delivered a slam off a missed Lasan Kromah layup to give GW the win in overtime after a Dayton three was ruled (correctly) to have come after the final buzzer.

It was an intense game, with GW shooting free throws abysmally (47.6%) while outrebounding the Flyers 42-34 and also collecting 9 steals and 6 blocks. The good guys had 5 players in double figures, a nice sight to see. Also nice to see the spring break crowd quiet the Dayton rowdies in attendance. Here's the GW official recap, pretty sweet.

GW is the #11 seed and now faces #6 seed UMass on Thursday at 9 pm in Brooklyn, here are ticket details. Students can get free tix here!

But I'll let the videos tell the tale, here's Armwood's dunk on the SportsCenter top 10 plays:

And a bunch more views of the dunk. I watched this over and over.
