It's also Armed Forces Day at the Smith Center, and fittingly, I'm blogging from the Colonial Hoops satellite office at the US Embassy, Kabul, Afghanistan, so I hope everybody else can go crazy in my place. Commanders-in-Chief > French explorers.
Here's more from GW:
Colonials Fans -
As of this morning, GW boasts the only three-game winning streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference, are just a half-game out of first place, and people are noticing. Jon Rothstein says the Buff & Blue might be the “surprise team in the A 10.” The folks at CBS Sports are saying, “George Washington, we see you, we hear you, we feel you.”
Saturday at 2pm at the Smith Center, the Colonials host one of the hottest teams in the conference: a La Salle Explorers squad coming off wins against #9 Butler and then-ranked #16 VCU. Between the two squads, the Colonials and Explorers each knocked off three teams with a share of the conference lead last week.
We need your help on Saturday to keep the streak alive. Meet us in Veteran’s Park for a tailgate open to all fans starting at noon, and get to your seats to get loud for the whole forty minutes starting at 2pm.
As we celebrate Armed Forces Day, we will also welcome the US Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team for the third consecutive year in a halftime performance sure to wow the crowd.
